This sake uses a special natural rice called “hotaru”, which means firefly. This rice is grown with eco friendly farming techniques using minimal pesticide and fertiliser.
An extremely easy to drink sake that is refreshing and has a medium finish. This sake can stand up to strongly flavoured cuisine (such as Chinese food) and yet sufficiently delicate to carry seafood flavours. It also works well with Japanese grill meat.
Rikyubai is named after a cherry tree in the garden of the brewery. It is the traditional label consumed around the brewery for decades.
